Terms and Conditions
Effective date: September 28, 2026
1. About Twinkle
Twinkle is a dating and social discovery service operated for adults. It helps members discover profiles, express interest, form mutual connections, and communicate. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the Twinkle mobile application, website, payment flows, and related services (together, the “Service”). “Twinkle”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the operator of the Service. “You” and “your” mean the person using it.
2. Acceptance and changes
By selecting the acceptance control during signup, creating an account, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms when the Service, law, or safety requirements change. We will publish the updated version and update the effective date. Where the law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it. If you continue using Twinkle after an update takes effect, that use means you accept the updated Terms.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Twinkle. You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under the laws that apply to you, if you have previously been removed for serious misconduct, or if your account is suspended. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet the age requirement. We do not knowingly collect accounts from children.
4. Your account
- Keep your login details and device secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it occurred without your fault and you promptly tell us.
- Use one account for yourself. Do not impersonate another person, create an account for someone else, or transfer your account without our written permission.
- Keep profile information current and honest. Do not misrepresent your age, identity, relationship status, location, or intentions.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
5. Profiles, discovery, and connections
Twinkle displays member-supplied information and uses preferences, availability, interactions, and approximate discovery information to present profiles. Matching is based on the actions and settings available in the app; it is not a promise that a connection will be compatible, genuine, available, safe, or interested in meeting. A profile, like, mutual connection, or online indicator may change or disappear. You remain responsible for your decisions and interactions.
Free discovery may include a usage limit. Twinkle may require an active paid subscription to continue viewing or discovering more profiles after the free allowance. A separate paid feature may be required to view people who have liked you. The app shows the applicable product, price, currency, and billing terms before payment.
6. Community standards
You must use Twinkle respectfully and lawfully. You must not:
- harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, blackmail, bully, or repeatedly contact someone who does not want contact;
- publish hate, extremist praise, sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual material, intimate images shared without permission, or content involving a minor;
- promote violence, fraud, scams, financial schemes, prostitution, trafficking, illegal goods, or unlawful services;
- impersonate a person, organisation, or public figure, use another person’s photos without permission, or create a deceptive account;
- send spam, mass messages, malicious links, malware, or requests for passwords, verification codes, money, or financial account access;
- scrape, harvest, copy, reverse engineer, probe, overload, or interfere with the Service or another member’s account;
- use Twinkle for commercial solicitation, research, surveillance, recruiting, or automated activity without our written permission; or
- break any law, infringe another person’s rights, or evade a restriction imposed by Twinkle.
7. Content you provide
You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other material you submit (“User Content”). You give Twinkle a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and technically process User Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service. This licence ends for content when it is deleted, except where a copy must be retained for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the User Content, that it is not misleading or unlawful, and that displaying it on Twinkle does not violate another person’s privacy, publicity, or intellectual-property rights. We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms, the law, or a safety decision.
8. Safety, reports, and moderation
Use the in-app report and block controls when available. We may review reports, preserve relevant information, limit visibility, remove content, suspend features, or close accounts. We may cooperate with law enforcement where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect people or the Service. We do not promise that moderation will identify every harmful account or prevent every unsafe interaction.
Twinkle is an adults-only service and has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), grooming, sexual solicitation of a minor, or CSAM. Our Child Safety Standards explain how to report suspected child exploitation, how reports are reviewed, and how to contact the designated child-safety team.
Never send money, share passwords or one-time codes, or disclose sensitive personal information to a person you have met through Twinkle. If you meet someone, tell a trusted person, meet in a public place, use your own transport, and leave if you feel unsafe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
9. Location and activity information
When you grant permission, Twinkle may use device location to support discovery. Other members are shown the approximate distance and country configured for the Service; we do not intentionally show your exact location in another member’s profile. Online and activity indicators are estimates and may be delayed. You can manage location permission through your device settings and discovery controls in the app.
10. Subscriptions and payments
10.1 Products
Twinkle may offer a monthly subscription that allows continued profile discovery after the free swipe allowance and a separate monthly likes-access product that allows you to view received likes. The app will identify the product and show the amount, currency, billing period, and any applicable tax before you confirm.
10.2 Currency and price
Members in Kenya are shown prices in Kenyan shillings (KES). Members outside Kenya are shown prices in United States dollars (USD). The price and currency displayed in the payment screen are the authoritative terms for that transaction. Prices may change for future billing periods; we will not change an already-paid period.
10.3 Paystack
Payments are processed through Paystack. Twinkle receives payment references, amount, currency, status, and entitlement dates so it can confirm access. Twinkle does not store your full card number or card security code. Payment providers may apply their own terms, verification, fees, and privacy practices.
10.4 Access, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Access starts only after Twinkle receives a verified successful payment. A monthly product normally covers the paid period shown at checkout. Where recurring billing is enabled, it may renew under the terms shown before confirmation; follow the payment flow or contact support to cancel future billing. Cancelling stops future renewal and does not normally shorten a paid period. Refunds are handled under applicable law, Paystack/payment-provider rules, and Twinkle’s support review. Contact us promptly with the transaction reference if a payment succeeded but access is missing.
11. Communications
We may send service messages about account security, matches, messages, payments, and policy changes. If you allow notifications, Twinkle may also send push notifications for interactions and reminders. You can control marketing or optional notifications in the app and device settings; essential service communications may still be sent.
12. Intellectual property
Twinkle and its software, design, logos, names, and non-user content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, modify, distribute, or exploit Twinkle branding or software without permission.
13. Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using Twinkle at any time. You can start account deletion from Settings → Delete account in the app, or contact jw.nyaguthii@gmail.com from the account email or provide enough information for us to verify ownership. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or limit features if we reasonably believe you breached these Terms, created a safety risk, used the Service unlawfully, failed payment verification, or exposed Twinkle or members to harm. We may retain limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, or financial records.
14. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Twinkle is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect availability, error-free content, a particular number of matches, a relationship outcome, identity verification of every member, or the safety or conduct of another person. You use the Service and meet members at your own judgment and risk. Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer right or legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Twinkle and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from your use of or inability to use the Service or from another member’s conduct. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the direct loss reasonably foreseeable from the event and, for paid use, the amount you paid to Twinkle for the affected product in the preceding three months, subject to mandatory law. These limits do not apply to liability that the law does not permit us to limit.
16. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction in Kenya may hear disputes, unless applicable law gives you another forum. Questions, complaints, payment issues, and deletion requests should be sent to jw.nyaguthii@gmail.com.
